Habitats
Welcome to TerraVerta, and the start of what we believe to be a beautiful, enhanced and conscious shift in the way we create buildings and homes that serve as living, working and learning environments.

TerraVerta was born from a passion for changing the building framework we know today and a vision to create timber homes that are equally luxurious as their traditional brick-and-mortar counterparts. Ultimately, it is a conscious decision to play a more responsible role in the broad context of the built environment and global construction industry.

Our TerraVerta Habitats are bespoke environments intended to reconnect ourselves with our surroundings - ones that are synchronous with nature and people, integrated into the landscape, designed and built for an experience in which an investment in a home is also an investment in the planet.

It’s meant to be.

TerraVerta Habitats defy preconceptions about homes built from wood by embracing an exciting new technology in the world of Mass Timber – using Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) to create an environment that embodies the beauty and advantages of wood without any of the traditional drawbacks.

The wellness benefits of a life lived within the natural haven of a timber home have long been acknowledged. Designing with nature in play allows this habitat to truly change how we live, rather than the seemingly inherent conception of nature being manipulated for the benefit of construction. What CLT does in technical terms is it adds better insulation and soundproofing. It is renewable, efficient in construction, sustainable, versatile and safe. And beautifully crafted.
This rapidly-growing style of construction is able to put homeowners closer to nature than ever before, with many added benefits of Mass Timber construction methodologies.
The first TerraVerta Habitats are available for sale are in the pristine Lake Brenton residential estate on the shores of the Knysna estuary in the Garden Route, South Africa. Set amongst indigenous trees and visited by local wildlife, these homes overlook one of the country’s most picturesque landscapes – unspoiled, undisturbed, and unforgettable.
